Biography

Dr. Aamir Khan obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan, in 2012. He went on to complete his Master of Engineering in Geotechnical and Highway Engineering from the same university in 2017. He recently earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geotechnical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, where his research focused on the Solidification/Stabilization of dredged contaminated sediment using vacuum binder and the development of the PHDVPSS method. In 2014, he joined Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology (QUEST), Nawabshah, Sindh, Pakistan, as a Lab Engineer, and in 2016, he was promoted to Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, a position he continues to hold. His primary research interests include soil stabilization and solidification, dredged material management, vacuum consolidation methods, and the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques in geotechnical engineering. His work particularly focuses on predicting unconfined compressive strength (UCS), strength behavior, and heavy metal leaching in stabilized soils.Dr. Khan has published more than five W-category research papers from his Ph.D. work and an additional three papers in the field of machine learning applications in geotechnical engineering, with an overall publication record of more than 16 papers in reputed journals and conferences. His contributions have been recognized through multiple Best Academic Awards at HUST and participation in international collaborative projects. Furthermore, he actively serves as a mentor and supervisor for undergraduate students working on advanced geotechnical and machine learning research topics.
