Neural Network Excitation Controller for Synchronous Generator

Abstract:

A simple neural network controller for the excitation of synchronous generator is presented in this paper. the controller performs the function of the terminal voltage control. by representing the proposed neural network controller in s-domain, its parameters to ensure system stability can be obtained analytically. computer based simulations of a synchronous generator at o-load and load conditions are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed excitation controller. the performance of developed neural network is observed and it is found that the NN controller as a field excitation controller can show not \only a good scope of application but enhance stability performance of the synchronous machine efficiently.
