Evaluation of Successive Loading Surfaces in Hardening Plasticity

Bashir Ahmed Memon and Xiaozu Su

Abstract:

A new method for evaluation of successive loading surfaces in hardening plasticity is introduced. The method is particularly used with Ottosen yield criterion; however it can also be used with other yield criterion with or without dependency on uniaxial compressive and tensile strength of concrete. The method is comparatively simple in nature, easy to implement in any of the existing computer code for nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete with out any difficulty. Method does not need separate loading function, and allows extension upto softening point. Details of the method are discussed, and are implemented in computer program for nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete members. Examples are solved to verify the validity of the method. It is observed that the method is in good agreement with the experimental results.
